Frequently asked questions
The most common questions we get from our clients
Your Spray Tan should last you 7-10 days, depending on how well you take care of it! The aftercare is something I go over with you during your appointment to make sure you have all the information you need to keep the shimmering glow lasting as long as possible!
Absolutely not! Spray Tanning solutions have come a long way, & I will spray you based on your skin complexion. Every spray tan is customized!
It CAN, but more times than not it won’t! After I Spray Tan you, I will touch your skin up with finishing powder to matte dry your skin so there isn’t any transfer. I always suggest while your Spray Tan is developing, DO NOT sweat! Once your skin starts to sweat while in the development stage is where it can possibly transfer. IF your spray tan does transfer though, it washes right out! The Spray Tanning solution will not stain.
Yes & No. If being in the ocean, pools, or jacuzzies are a must while having a Spray Tan, I highly recommend it not being often. These things can start to rip off your Spray Tan & potentially leave blotchy areas, which is something we don’t want!
Of course! But this involves upkeep! Always remember to drink your water & stay moisturized! These are the 2 biggest components to help your skin. I suggest upping your water intake & moisturizing more-so while having a Spray Tan. Yes, we want to moisturize every day while having a Spray Tan!
Tan Care
- Shower/Save/Exfoliate 12 hours before your tan. Exfoliating is so important as it takes off dead skin cells for a more flawless tan to be applied. Please do not shower RIGHT before your tan. Your pours need time to close.
- Come to your appointment with NO: makeup, deodorant, perfume, or lotion anywhere on your body. It’ll show in the outcome of your Spray Tan if there is.
- Come to your appointment with: comfy/loose clothing & shoes! Tight clothing/shoes such as yoga pants, bras, or even socks & sneakers can alter your Spray Tan as you go to put them back on after your appointment.
- You can wear a bathing suit, underwear/bra, boxers/briefs, etc. Judgment free zone! Please tan how you feel comfortable. Women are allowed to tan naked if desired. Men are asked to keep boxers/briefs on.
- Drink water leading up to your tan. Its important to keep your skin hydrated.
- Nails/Waxing/Pedicures etc. should all be done PRIOR to your Spray Tan. Never after.
- Initial rinse off should be SOAP FREE! A good 2-3 minute warm rinse. Time of rinse will be determined at your appointment.
- Try not to shave during your initial rinse. Shaving can strip off your Spray Tan, as it is a form of an exfoliator. Shaving creams or oils will also strip off your Spray Tan – try to refrain from those, if possible, when you do shave.
- NO RUBBING! After your rinse/showers you want to make sure you are always patting dry, as opposed to rubbing.
- Use sulphate/paraben free soaps/lotions while you have your Spray Tan. Lotions with perfumes can compromise your tan. Do not use DOVE products. I suggest Aveeno or Hempz.
- Moisture [oil free] after showers to keep the body hydrated! This keeps the tan lasting while fading evenly.
- Avoid exfoliates!! No peels, exfoliating mits or scrubs, or any skincare with acids in them. You CAN start to exfoliate after 7-10 days after your Spray Tan.
- Avoid chlorine & salt water.
